Located just a short drive from downtown Chicago, Advocate Christ Medical Center serves as the cornerstone of our residency. This comprehensive teaching and research hospital boasts 749 beds and is a recognized leader across numerous medical disciplines, including cardiovascular medicine, emergency services, surgery, neuroscience, oncology, and women’s health. Notably, it functions as a Level I trauma center and houses a Level III NICU, signifying its capacity to handle the most complex medical cases. Since 1996, our residents have also benefited from the co-location of Advocate Children’s Hospital – Oak Lawn on the same campus. This dedicated children’s facility adds further depth to our training, featuring private inpatient rooms, a pediatric intensive care unit, and a specialized pediatric surgical heart unit.

The synergy between Advocate Christ Medical Center and Advocate Children’s Hospital creates an exceptional learning environment, particularly advantageous for those specializing in family medicine. Our residents gain exposure to a broad spectrum of specialty care, ensuring they are well-prepared to address diverse patient needs. The strength of family medicine within our community and our diverse patient base together provide an educational foundation deeply rooted in the core principles of our specialty.
