This initiative is designed to help members achieve and maintain viral suppression, which is crucial for their health and preventing HIV transmission. Through the Amida Care Incentive Program, we financially reward members who successfully reach and maintain an undetectable viral load.
Understanding Undetectable Viral Load
For individuals with HIV, consistent use of antiretroviral therapy (ART) as prescribed by their healthcare provider can significantly reduce the amount of HIV in their blood. When the viral load drops to a very low level, it’s considered “undetectable” – typically less than 200 copies per milliliter of blood. Achieving an undetectable viral load has profound benefits: it allows people living with HIV to live longer, healthier lives and eliminates the risk of sexually transmitting HIV to others.

How the Amida Care Incentive Program Works
The Live Undetectable (LU) program is Amida Care’s incentive program to actively encourage members to adhere to their ART medication and achieve viral suppression. By enrolling in the LU program and achieving or already having an undetectable viral load, members become eligible for a financial reward. For every three-month period (quarter) that a member maintains viral suppression, they will receive $100. This can total up to $400 in incentives per calendar year, providing tangible support for their commitment to health management. Amida Care also provides access to personalized support services, working in collaboration with members and their primary care providers (PCPs) to overcome any barriers to achieving and sustaining viral suppression.
