Hello everyone! For those who don’t know me, I’m Judith Estrada, and I had the honor of serving as one of this year’s co-chairs. Stepping into a new school year always brings excitement, and reflecting on the opportunities from the past summer fills me with gratitude. As a fourth-year economics major, entering my final undergraduate year feels bittersweet, but the experiences I gained, especially through the 2019 Riordan College To Career Program, have been invaluable.
This past summer, I was incredibly fortunate to participate in the 2019 Riordan College to Career Program at UCLA’s Anderson School of Management. This program was a game-changer for my professional development. It provided a unique platform to connect with accomplished business professionals, gain insights into various graduate programs, and refine my professional presentation skills. The Riordan program truly opens doors that many undergraduates might not typically encounter. Being immersed in such a resourceful and opportunity-rich environment, especially alongside my hermana @Terii, made the experience even more impactful. Whether you’re in business or any other major, I wholeheartedly recommend applying to the College to Career program to all hermanas seeking to enhance their career trajectory.

Beyond the Riordan College to Career Program, a significant portion of my summer was dedicated to an internship in the auditing department of an accounting firm back home. This hands-on experience proved to be one of the most enriching phases of my life, both professionally and personally. The internship allowed me to build a strong professional network and delve into the world of accounting, a field that has always intrigued me. I was fortunate to connect with mentors who were genuinely invested in my professional growth and future aspirations. I am deeply thankful for this internship opportunity and would gladly assist anyone navigating internship applications or interview preparations.
The most profound lesson I took away from this summer is the importance of seizing every opportunity that comes your way. Sometimes, incredible chances arise when you least expect them. Always maintain gratitude for each experience that allows you to explore new horizons and foster personal growth. Never stop striving for your goals because the opportunities are out there; sometimes, you just need to work a little harder to discover them.
