Effective April 28, 2025, American Express will discontinue its Auto Purchasing Program. This means that the American Express Car Purchasing Program will no longer be available after this date. Any existing offers or price quotations obtained through the program will expire on their originally stated end dates.
It’s important to note that TrueCar’s Buyer’s Bonus benefits for purchases completed through the American Express Auto Purchasing Program will continue to be honored for reported purchases finalized until June 19, 2025. If you intend to take advantage of these benefits, ensure your purchase is completed and reported within this timeframe. Purchases made via the American Express Auto Purchasing Program must be reported within 45 days of the transaction date. For purchases completed on or after April 28, 2025, please report them by calling 1-877-924-2922.
This service, which is operated by TrueCar, provides information on vehicle pricing, specifications, and safety data for both new and used cars. While the American Express car purchasing program is ending, it’s essential to understand that neither TrueCar nor American Express are involved in brokering, selling, or leasing vehicles directly. The vehicles listed through the service are offered for sale by licensed dealerships who independently set their pricing. Your final purchase price is always negotiated directly with the certified dealer. Vehicle availability, including options and colors, is subject to the dealer’s current inventory and confirmation.
American Express does not provide guarantees related to vehicle purchases made through this program. The responsibility for fulfilling the benefits of this service rests solely with TrueCar and the participating dealerships. Similarly, the opportunity to use your American Express Card for at least $2,000 of your vehicle purchase is managed by the participating certified dealer and is subject to credit limitations.
