After Care Programs for Early Learners (PS, PK, K)

Our youngest learners in Preschool (PS), Pre-Kindergarten (PK), and Kindergarten benefit from a dedicated after care setting within the lower school early years wing. This specially designed space features classrooms and secure outdoor play areas tailored for this age group. The daily schedule is thoughtfully structured to include a healthy snack, engaging story time, free play sessions to encourage creativity and social interaction, and special activities to stimulate learning and development. These activities range from nature walks exploring the outdoor environment to group games promoting teamwork and fun art projects fostering self-expression. Furthermore, we offer enrollment-based special programs such as theatre for budding performers, yoga to promote wellness and mindfulness, outdoor explorers for adventurous spirits, and Spanish classes to introduce language skills early on.

After Care Programs for Grades 1-4

For students in First through Fourth grades, our ASP continues to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment with a focus on both recreation and academic support. In addition to a daily snack and a balanced schedule of organized activities and free play, students in this age group have access to a dedicated quiet homework room. This provides a conducive space for completing assignments and reinforcing classroom learning. Our ASP facility, a separate building conveniently located on the lower school campus near 19808, is well-equipped with modern amenities. It includes computers for educational activities, a kitchen for snack preparation, two classrooms for various program activities, and a full-size gymnasium for physical activity, ensuring year-round engagement regardless of weather. Adjacent to the building, an outdoor playground and a mini turf field offer further opportunities for outdoor play and sports. Beyond the core ASP schedule, students can also sign up for enriching activities such as private music lessons to cultivate their musical talents and special-interest clubs catering to diverse hobbies and passions.

After Care Programs for Grades 5-6

Our After School Program extends to Fifth and Sixth graders on the Friends middle/upper school campus, ensuring a seamless transition for older lower school students. Fifth graders are escorted “up the hill” to the middle/upper school campus by faculty members, and upon arrival, they are greeted by a dedicated ASP counselor. In cases of inclement weather, safe transportation via school van is provided. The ASP for this age group commences with a snack and a designated study hall period, excluding Fridays. A diverse range of activities are offered, including various sports and games to promote physical activity and teamwork, computer access for educational and recreational purposes, and art activities to encourage creativity. Furthermore, students are encouraged to attend home athletic events, fostering school spirit and community engagement. Fifth-grade students also have the advantage of accessing the numerous clubs available throughout the school year, expanding their extracurricular options. Adding to the convenience, in addition to the provided ASP snack, 5th and 6th graders can utilize their student accounts to purchase additional food and drinks from the school cafeteria.
