- Contribute to program activities, upholding the highest standards of compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, accreditation standards, and ACC policies. What We Look For in Our Faculty:
American Career College Ontario seeks individuals with a strong foundation in nursing practice and a commitment to educational excellence. To be considered for this rewarding faculty position, you should possess:
- Extensive Nursing Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Registered Nurse is essential. Furthermore, you should have at least one (1) year of experience in teaching or clinical supervision within a state-approved nursing program (registered nursing, vocational or practical nursing, or psychiatric technician school) within the last five years. Alternatively, we also welcome candidates with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in nursing administration or nursing education within the last five years.
- Leadership Qualities: We seek individuals who can cultivate a learner-centered environment and inspire excellence in our students. Your leadership skills will be crucial in shaping the next generation of nursing professionals.
Educational Background:
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree: You must hold a minimum of a baccalaureate degree in nursing or a related field from an accredited institution recognized by the US Secretary of Education or Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
- Coursework in Education: Completion of coursework in administration, teaching, and curriculum development from an accredited school is required, demonstrating your foundational knowledge in educational principles.
- Active RN License: A current and unencumbered California Registered Nurse (RN) License is mandatory.
- Board Approval: Approval by the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT) is required before assuming the role of Assistant Director of Nursing.
- Teaching Methodology Certification: A Certificate of Completion of a course in teaching methodology of at least 30 hours is necessary to ensure effective instruction.
- CPR Certification: A current CPR Card is also required.
