The Advocate Children’s Hospital-Park Ridge Residency program is excited to announce that, in line with recommendations from the AAMC and APPD, all interviews for the 2024-2025 season will be conducted virtually. We believe this virtual format offers a fantastic opportunity for you to thoroughly explore our program and for us to get to know you, regardless of your location.
Our interview season for the Advocate Children’s Hospital-Park Ridge Residency program will run from mid-October to mid-January. We have carefully designed our virtual interview day to be accommodating to medical students engaged in clinical rotations, ensuring accessibility for interviewees across all time zones, and dedicating ample time for you to learn everything you need to know about our program.
At Advocate Children’s Hospital-Park Ridge, we are committed to a fair and equitable application review process. We evaluate all applications based on merit, without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, disability, or any other legally protected characteristic. Our program employs a holistic review of all applications, seeking candidates who are the best fit for our mission, vision, and values.
To apply to the Advocate Children’s Hospital Park Ridge Program, all applications must be submitted through ERAS and include the following essential components:
- A completed ERAS application form
- USMLE Step 1 or COMLEX Level 1 score submitted with your application. (USMLE Step 2/COMLEX Level 2 scores are required by February 1st)
- Personal Statement outlining your interest in pediatrics and our program
- Dean’s Letter (MSPE)
- Three (3) letters of recommendation. Please note that a Chair’s letter is not a mandatory requirement.
Interview invitations will be extended via email through Thalamus. To respect your clinical rotation schedules, we send out interview offers after 4pm CST. Importantly, we are committed to offering interviews only to the number of applicants we have available positions for.
Interviews will be held on Mondays and Tuesdays. To provide a more personal experience and allow you to connect with our residents, we will host a virtual get-together with current residents the evening before each interview day, from 6:30-7:30pm CST. We look forward to connecting with you virtually and sharing more about the Advocate Children’s Hospital Park Ridge Program.
