Celebrating Achievement: The American Career College Honors Program Graduation Ceremony

American Career College (ACC) is proud to celebrate the accomplishments of its graduates, including those recognized through the American Career College Honors Program. The upcoming Graduation Ceremony is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students who have completed their programs and are ready to embark on their professional careers. This guide provides essential details for graduates participating in the ceremony, ensuring a memorable and well-organized event.

Event Essentials for Graduates and Guests

Mark your calendars for June 8th, 11:00 am at the Toyota Arena. Graduates, please arrive by 9 am for registration to ensure a smooth start to this momentous occasion. Guest doors will open at 10 am, allowing ample time for everyone to find their seats before the ceremony commences. The ceremony is expected to last approximately 1.5 hours, filled with celebrations and acknowledgements of our graduates’ achievements. Parking at the Toyota Arena is available for $15 per car, and payments are accepted via card only.

Health and Safety Guidelines

The health and safety of our graduates and guests are paramount. The ceremony is scheduled to proceed following current safety guidelines. Please be aware that adjustments may be necessary at short notice to comply with the latest health protocols. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility.

Graduation Eligibility and RSVP

To be eligible for the Graduation Ceremony, all graduates must have completed their externship hours or finished their program requirements by June 8, 2025. Furthermore, graduates must be in good financial standing with American Career College to participate in the ceremony.

Graduates can RSVP through the “RSVP tab” and request up to 4 guest tickets. Details regarding ticket distribution in April will be communicated by your campus Student Services team via email or REMIND. Ensure you RSVP promptly to secure your tickets and participation in this special event.

Cap and Gown Information

All graduates participating in the ceremony are required to wear a cap and gown.

Complete the online order form on the website to submit your cap and gown order. The website also offers options to purchase additional graduation-related items.

Dress Code and Professional Conduct for Graduates

Graduation is a formal event celebrating your academic achievements. Appropriate dress code and professional behavior are expected from all graduates.

Cap Decoration:

You are welcome to decorate your graduation cap with appropriate designs and messages. However, decorations must be respectful and free of offensive language. ACC staff will have the discretion to approve or disapprove cap decorations.

Gown Alterations:

Please refrain from decorating or altering your gown. Altered gowns are not permitted, and graduates with altered gowns will be required to purchase a new gown for $50 to participate in the ceremony. Alternatively, participation in the ceremony may be denied if a new gown is not purchased.

Student Code of Conduct:

The American Career College student code of conduct is applicable throughout the graduation ceremony. We expect all graduates to conduct themselves professionally and respectfully, upholding the values of ACC.

Recognizing Honors and Achievements: Honorary Cords

American Career College takes pride in recognizing outstanding student achievements through honorary cords, a key aspect of the American Career College Honors Program recognition at graduation. These cords signify different accomplishments and contributions during your academic journey:

  • Gold Cords: Awarded to graduates who have achieved honor roll status with a GPA of 3.5 or above, representing academic excellence.
  • Red Cords: Recognize perfect attendance, awarded to students with zero missed time, highlighting dedication and commitment.
  • Silver Cords: Given to graduates who obtained their high school equivalency at the HSE academy, marking a significant educational milestone.
  • Purple Cords: Distinguish Student Ambassadors, students who have provided peer support and volunteered at various school events throughout the year, showcasing leadership and service.
  • Green and Black Cords: Awarded to students who have completed various badges through ACC Ready, demonstrating proactive career preparation and portfolio building.
