Understanding the AR Health Care Independence Program: Your Guide to ARHOME

Open Enrollment is here, and it’s your opportunity to review and make changes to your health insurance plan under the Arkansas Health and Opportunity for Me (ARHOME) program. This initiative is designed to foster a stronger health care independence program for Arkansans, ensuring access to quality private health insurance through Medicaid.

ARHOME marks a significant step in Arkansas’s approach to health care. Replacing Arkansas Works on January 1, 2022, ARHOME utilizes Medicaid funding to purchase private health insurance for beneficiaries. You continue to be covered by Medicaid, but your healthcare is managed by leading private insurers, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Ambetter.

The ARHOME program’s core mission extends beyond just providing coverage. It’s focused on proactively improving the health and well-being of Arkansans. This commitment is reflected in the establishment of Life360 HOMEs, specialized programs targeting key populations:

  • Maternal Life360: Dedicated support for high-risk pregnant women, new mothers, and infants.
  • Rural Life360: Addressing the unique health challenges faced by Arkansans in rural communities.
  • Success Life360: Providing resources and care for young adults at higher risk of adverse health outcomes.
