School Day Sign-In and Sign-Out Procedures

To ensure the safety and well-being of all students and minimize daily contacts, we strongly discourage lunch sign-outs. If your child has appointments during the school day, please inform the office in advance. Upon arrival at the school, please call the office and buzz door #5 at the main entrance. We appreciate your patience as we bring your child to the front doors to meet you, allowing extra time for potential outdoor locations of students.

School Yard Guidelines for Parents

To maintain a smooth and safe environment for our students in Grades 1 to 8, we kindly request that parents and caregivers refrain from entering the schoolyard during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up. Please say your goodbyes at the gate. Your cooperation in adhering to these school rules and routines is greatly appreciated.

Dressing Appropriately for All Weather Conditions

As part of our commitment to outdoor learning and activities, all students at Armour Heights Child Care Program and school must be prepared for all types of weather. Please ensure your child is dressed with appropriate outerwear, including jackets, hats, mittens, and rain boots as needed. Gym classes are frequently held outdoors, weather permitting.

Mental Health and Well-being Support

The well-being of our students is paramount. We understand that students may experience a range of emotions. Prioritizing mental health is crucial.

Need immediate help?

  • In case of a mental health or substance use emergency, please call 9-1-1 or visit your local hospital’s emergency room.
  • For non-emergency situations or to talk through concerns, please consider reaching out to the resources listed on the TDSB website or contacting the school for guidance.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Armour Heights community and providing a supportive and enriching environment for your child’s growth and development within our child care program and school.
