Your Role in Progressive Care at Valley Medical Center

As a Clinical Nurse II in our Progressive Care Unit, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care under the supervision of experienced nursing professionals. This role is perfect for RNs who have a solid foundation in acute care and are eager to expand their skills in a fast-paced and intellectually stimulating environment. Please note that this position is not suitable for New Graduate Nurses; we require candidates to have at least one year of recent acute care experience and a valid California Registered Nurse license.

Key Responsibilities of a Clinical Nurse II in Progressive Care

As a Clinical Nurse II, your responsibilities will span across essential aspects of patient care, demonstrating your expertise and growing your experience within our Progressive Care Unit Training Program Valley Medical Center. These tasks typically include:

Assessment Proficiency:

  • Conduct thorough patient and/or family interviews to gather vital data for nursing assessments. Document and report findings accurately.
  • Utilize assessment data to formulate precise nursing diagnoses.
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of normal health parameters, identifying and reporting any deviations, patient problems, symptoms, or behavioral changes to the appropriate medical authority.
  • Observe and document patient’s physical, psycho-social, cultural, and learning needs, along with their families’ responses, in a clear and concise manner.

Planning Expertise:

  • Identify patient care challenges and effectively prioritize care based on both nursing and medical diagnoses.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of patient care goals and plans relevant to the typical patient population in the Progressive Care Unit.

  • Prioritize and deliver patient care effectively, adhering to established patient care plans.
  • Implement all aspects of the patient care plan with precision and attentiveness.
  • Actively seek supervision and guidance to refine nursing skills, especially when performing unfamiliar procedures or working in new situations. This is a key component of the progressive care unit training program.
  • Take full responsibility for all nursing care provided, ensuring patient safety and well-being.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with safety standards and care protocols for both yourself and your colleagues.
