Brandon Marshall’s name resonates powerfully both on and off the football field. A Super Bowl 50 champion with the Denver Broncos and a former NFL linebacker for eight seasons, Marshall has translated his on-field leadership and dedication into impactful community initiatives, most notably through the Williams-marshall Cares Leadership Program. This program, founded in 2016 with his mother, Barbara Marshall, stands as a testament to his commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders.

Marshall’s journey began in Las Vegas, Nevada, where his athletic prowess was evident early on at Cimarron-Memorial High School. He earned accolades in both football and track & field, achieving first-team All-Sunset Conference honors as a linebacker and tight end, and second-team all-state recognition as a linebacker. His high school career culminated in the honor of having his jersey retired in 2016, a symbol of the lasting legacy he built even before his NFL days.

Continuing his football career at the University of Nevada, Reno, Marshall excelled as an outside linebacker for the Wolf Pack while pursuing a degree in criminal justice. His performance earned him second-team All-WAC honors, setting the stage for his entry into the NFL. Drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2012, Marshall’s career truly took off when he joined the Denver Broncos in 2013.

In Denver, Marshall played a pivotal role in the Broncos’ defense. He contributed to their AFC Championship victory against the New England Patriots, leading to an appearance in Super Bowl XLVIII. The pinnacle of his NFL career arrived in Super Bowl 50 in 2016, where he started and recorded five combined tackles, contributing significantly to the Broncos’ 24-10 triumph over the Carolina Panthers. This victory secured him a Super Bowl ring and recognition on the Denver Broncos All-Decade Team for the 2010s. By the end of his NFL career, Marshall had amassed an impressive record of 419 tackles, 6.5 sacks, and 2 interceptions, showcasing his dynamic impact on the defensive side of the game.

Beyond his celebrated football career, Brandon Marshall’s heart remains deeply rooted in his Las Vegas community. His philanthropic endeavors have been widely recognized, with the City of North Las Vegas proclaiming June 10th as “Brandon Marshall Day” in 2020. This honor underscores his profound commitment to social justice and community upliftment, central tenets of the Williams-Marshall Cares (WMC) foundation.

The Williams-Marshall Cares Leadership Program embodies this commitment by inspiring young athletes and future leaders. WMC fosters a lifelong dedication to service, integrity, and community leadership, empowering young individuals to realize their full potential and become positive role models.
