Who is Eligible for Alabama CARES?
Access to Alabama CARES services is available to several categories of family caregivers:
- Those who are the primary family caregivers of frail, older adults aged 60 years or older.
- Older relative caregivers (excluding parents) aged 55 years or older who are caring for children aged 18 years and younger, whether the children have disabilities or not.
- Older relative caregivers and parents, including grandparents aged 55 years or older, caring for adults aged 19-59 years with disabilities.
